A creationist model of the Grand Canyon proposes that this 277 mile long X 4 mile wide X 1 mile deep gouge in the earth's crust is the result of a giant natural dam breach not long after the Genesis Flood. This was a catastrophic event similar to the Missoula Flood recently documented in the scablands of Washington State. The sedimentary layers through which the waters rushed were laid down some 4500 years ago during the Flood. These photos were taken during a rafting trip through the Grand Canyon in August/September 2006 with Tom Vail of Canyon Ministries. Those with a biblical worldview can easily see the evidence for catastrophe in these photos.
