THE APOLOGETIC FOR ATHEISTS

“FUTILE THINKING & FOOLISH HEARTS”

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools.   Romans 1:20-22 (NIV)

As a Young Earth Creationist (Biblical Christian) my beliefs are most often attacked by people in two separate groups. The second group consists of people who usually call themselves Atheists. They believe there is no God and somehow the universe came about by accident. It is a position which does not allow for logic since if we are an accident there is no reason to believe that we would even be able to think let alone communicate with each other. Nevertheless, I have an Apologetic (Defense) for this group which is as follows:

People can and do believe anything.  If you want to reject God, He will allow you to do so. But, before you leave this life with this belief (religion), be sure you analyze your presuppositions very carefully. If, after completing this careful analysis of your presuppositions, you are still comfortable with them realize that you have chosen a path of total hopelessness.

Also, consider why you would want to attack the Biblical Christian worldview. If the biblical worldview is wrong and the atheistic view is true, why would you care to discourage those who have a great hope? What good comes from that? Nothing comes from that excepting evil! You tell me you are able to have “evolved” morals which are able to direct you to good and not to evil. So, why not just leave Biblical Christians alone? In the end we will all just be worm food according to your worldview. What does it all matter to you?

On the other hand, if our worldview as revealed by God’s Word is true and you are wrong, you will spend eternity in Hell and we will spend eternity in Heaven with our God.

Yes, consider your presuppositions carefully! Don’t succumb to “futile thinking” and a “foolish heart.” There is still a little time left for you to accept Christ’s gracious and most generous offer. (Read John 3:16-20).
