Who to Serve

But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24:15)

Joshua seemed to know that his people would fall away even though they had every reason to know and give thanks to the one true living God! And, indeed, throughout the Old Testament are numerous examples where they did exactly that.

Today we see many people in America falling away and clambering after other gods just like the Israelites and others have done. Commonly they are bowing to secular ideas that are founded on evolution, deep time, and humanism.

However, Christians are called to reject these and other similar ideas and, like Joshua, commit their households to serve the LORD.
