“They will be mine,” says the LORD Almighty, “in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him.” (Malachi 3:17)
Those who have accepted Christ and believed the truth will be the Lord's. They are set apart in a position of privilege in the eyes of God. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9)
Of course, no one deserves this position and it is only through grace that we are saved. How wonderful it is that we are spared by God's compassion for us! How wonderful it is that he looks on us as treasured possessions!
And, how wonderful it is that we who fear and honor his name may declare the praises of him who has called us out of darkness into light!
