Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:20-21)

For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. (Matthew 13:15)

And if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver, and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. (Proverbs 2:3-5)

The point of these scriptures is to drive home the point that God says what he means in the Bible without the need for interpretation by human “experts.” The key is for the readers of the Bible to diligently study the Word and allow the Holy Spirit to carry them along to understanding. (This paragraph by your blogger is superfluous interpretation to those who regularly study their Bibles.)

Are you involved in a regular study of God's Word? If not, today is a good day to begin!
