The first man Adam became a living being, the last Adam, a life-giving being. (1 Corinthians 15:45)

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man he humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross! (Philippians 2:6-8)

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned – for before the law was given sin was in the world. (Romans 5:12-13a)

In these verses we see the huge difference between man and the God-man. Due to the first Adam's rebellion against God's authority, all were forced to suffer until the last Adam was sent to provide a path to salvation for all who would accept the offer.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8)

Notice too, that the Bible tells us again (as in Genesis) that the first man was Adam. There was no soul-less human race and no series of hominids that somehow evolved into humans. We are a specially created race made in the image of God.

However, the most important point is that the Last Adam is the only one who can provide salvation unto eternal life! To God be the glory!
