And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. (Revelation 22:19)
As with last week's scripture we are warned in this verse not to mess with the book of Revelation in particular or with the Bible in general.
Unfortunately, “Christian” liberals are constantly at work taking away words from the Bible that don't match up to the current Post Modern way of cultural thinking. Many of them say things like we should take the Bible seriously but definitely not literally. The Bible then becomes like any book written at the hand of man rather than the authoritative and accurate word of God.
Those many, inside and outside Christianity, who have been evolutionized by our secular society have attempted to remove the fundamentals of the faith by minimizing or subtracting chapters 1-11 of Genesis. And for what purpose? Only to conform to the atheism of this world that we are warned repeatedly in the Bible not to do. The consequences of this “taking away” are grave indeed!
