The Bible consists of 66 separate books written by about 40 different authors living on three different continents. They used three different languages over a time span of at least 1,500 years. It contains history, poetry, prophecy, science, geography, and philosophy, yet contains no errors or internal discrepancies. In spite of this diversity, the Bible presents a marvelous unity within the development of its great themes.

For over 2,000 years it has been the world's top-selling book. Our understanding of both history and morality is based on what the Bible has to say. The Bible is also the foundation for both Western civilization and much technology (such as the printing press, which was invented due to the need to share God's Word).

From beginning to end there is one over-arching and unfolding story: God's redemption of man. There is nothing remotely comparable among all of the millions of books written by man.
