The Bible states that God created Eve, the first female, in a special way–out of Adam–to be Adam's helper and companion. Science has no adequate explanation for how gender developed. The process of reproduction is marvelously complex and must have been perfect from the beginning to be successful.
The August 18, 1997, issue of U.S. News and World Report was dedicated to great scientific mysteries. The origin of gender was listed as one of the most mysterious. This is because evolution has no answer for how a single-sex organism could possibly have turned into two completely different sexes. Both sexes would have had to appear simultaneously, yet the reproductive organs and functions of each are completely different.
Evolutionists believe that sexual separation must have happened numerous times throughout evolutionary history as completely different types of plants and animals developed different sexes at different times. Yet no adequate cause or mechanism has been proposed which can explain how opposite sexes could have developed even once!
