There is much about God that cannot be fully appreciated unless we take time to study and understand what He has created. Romans 1:20 tells us that man can clearly see God's eternal power and devine nature through what He made and no man will have any excuse for not subjecting himself to God's authority, because of this evidence from creation.
It is our responsibility to not only study God's Word but also His marvelous creation. We should meditate on what we learn from it if we truly desire to appreciate and know God. Too often we waste our God-given time and abilities. We concentrate on entertaining ourselves and satisfying our physical desires instead of getting to know the One who made us and the world around us. Sadly, we are all too often captivated by man-made things, rather than the awesome creation which is right before our eyes. We miss so much if we do not cultivate a proper interest in the natural world around us.
