There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven: (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
In Ecclesiastes chapter three God uses the wisdom of Solomon to advise us of His sovernighty over every aspect of our lives. Things are accomplished according to God's time and purpose and man does not have the control that he often thinks he does. But, God tells us that we can request His help for our every real need.
My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and those who pursue me. (Psalm 31:15)
And we also know that long-term good will result if we genuinely love God.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
For the believer these are encouraging words indeed!
