So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)
In the beginning everything was perfect, even man. But after the Fall all of creation went wrong. But God had a plan to redeem and make new again.
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son. (Romans 8:29)
And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:49)
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:2)
These verses summarize the great hope that the Christian believer has. We can know that our image will be restored to its original God-like state through our Savior Jesus Christ.
