But now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him -” (Romans 16:26)

He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the prophets he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. (Luke 24:25-27)

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. (Romans 15:4)

In these New Testament writings we are told how important the Old Testament is to the believer. The Old and the New Testaments have the same emphasis – Jesus Christ! Notice in Luke that Jesus did not rebuke them for not accepting the historical fact of his resurrection, but for not believing the Scriptures!

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16)
