See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8)

A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to dispute with him [Paul]. Some of them asked, “What is this babbler trying to say?” (Acts 17:18a)

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise are futile.” (1 Corinthians 3:19-20)

Where does true wisdom come from? Can it come from those who have great worldly educations and the respect of secularists? Can it come from humanistic philosophers who reject the Bible and the Creator for the love of human wisdom?

The Bible makes it clear that true wisdom does not come from human-based philosophy that is always hollow and deceptive. No, true wisdom can only come from God. We have access to that wisdom via the Bible and through our daily conversations (prayers) with the one true God.
