See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. (Malachi 4:5)
See, the day of the LORD is coming – a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger – to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it. (Isaiah 13:9)
The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved. (Joel 2:31-32)
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. (2 Peter 3:10)
These are just some of the Scriptures that warn of the coming day of the LORD. All those who have called on the name of the LORD will survive the terrible judgment. However, all who have rejected or ignored the Creator God will experience a dreadful judgment. Of this we can be sure!
