But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built! (1 Kings 8:27)

He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens in order to fill the whole universe. (Ephesians 4:10)

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. (Revelation 21:1)

I know a man in Christ who  fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. (2 Corinthians 12:2)

These fascinating verses may give us insight about the actual place where God dwells. Evidently the biblical language ascribes to multiple heavens and the third heaven designates a place beyond the immediate heaven of the earth's atmosphere and beyond the further heaven of outer space into the presence of God himself.

Yet we know that through Jesus Christ we have nearby access to a very personal God!

Could it be that this “highest heaven” is of a dimension we have yet to experience? One thing is clear and that is that we still have much to learn about God and his works.
