There will be no breaching of walls, no going into captivity, no cry of distress in our streets. Blessed are the people of whom this is true; blessed are the people whose God is the LORD. (Psalm 144:14-15)
How appropriate these words are in this day! America was founded on the Word of God, but has greatly strayed. This error began with the institution of “precedent” law over God's law. The Bible clearly explains that man cannot determine truth without God's guidance and this is so obvious in the casual reading of the news headlines of today. The God-rejecting ideas introduced in the Enlightenment are still pervasive in the culture and Christians especially bear the brunt of the consequences. Nevertheless, Christians must trust and obey the glorious instructions provided us in the Bible even if this should result in opposition and persecution. From this trust and obedience come the promised blessings.
The wicked return to the grave, all the nations that forget God. (Psalm 9:17)
