Sceptics and unbelievers are quick to fault the mind of the believer because his thinking does not comply with the ways of the world. The Bible has a lot to say about this:

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7)

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)

The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment: “For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:15-16)

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. (1 Peter 1:13)

These great attributes and abilities of the minds of believers are only potential until they are put into play by a self-disciplined following of the leading of the Holy Spirit. Make sure your minds are not conformed to the world but have been instead renewed and transformed! And, do not allow yourselves to be influenced by those who are perishing.
