Only God can create life and so the human magicians confronting Moses and Aaron at the throne of Pharoah were performing inherently impotent counterfeit miracles.
The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10)
Today many believe in counterfeit miracles such as the ability of life to form by itself from inorganic chemicals. This is known as spontaneous generation or abiogenesis and is a process shown by science to be impossible. Those who believe in these counterfeit miracles reject Christ and accept various fairy tales concocted by men instead. They choose to believe a lie rather than believing in the one who is “the way, the truth and the life.” (John 14:6)
Our secular society, that is allowed to infiltrate more and more churches every day, is based on counterfeit miracles and the dire consequences are more and more obvious with each and every day that passes.
