I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ. (Galatians 1:11-12)

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. (2 Thessalonians 2:15)

Many liberal theologians teach that the Bible only represents various traditions that have ultimate truth only for the time and place that they were written. Therefore, for them and any that accept their teachings the value of the Bible is severely limited. In the above verses the Apostle Paul strongly disputes this way of thinking and teaching.
