If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of the Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. (1 Timothy 6:3)

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (2 Timothy 4:3)

He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. (Titus 1:9)

Sound doctrine is very important to each and every believer. Unfortunately, many of today's preachers, teachers and church leaders no longer hold to sound doctrine. Instead they attempt to reinterpret the Word to match the latest worldly cultural fads. When they do this they not only facilitate the intrusion of secularism into the Church, but also show that they understand nothing and are simply expressing their conceit as explained in the verse above.

This leads people astray and it does not allow for the wonderful encouragement that sound doctrine holds for the faithful.
