Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are. (Matthew 23:15)

But the Jews who refused to believe [the apostles] stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. (Acts 14:2)

They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. (Acts 14:2)

If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world. That is why the world hates you. (John 15:18-20)

Those in the world who hate the truth and God can be expected to attack anyone who devotedly and openly follows the God-man Jesus. Today the only generally unprotected minority in America are Biblical Christians. To confirm this as fact requires only a small amount of research into the daily work product of the mainline media.

Should we just give up?

Paul responded to the worldly attacks on truth in his day by writing:

But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost, because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me. (1 Corinthians 16:8-9)
