Woe to you teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Therefore you will be punished severely. (Matthew 23:14)
Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. (James 3:1)
It was he [Christ] who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be pastors and teachers. (Ephesians 4:11)
You then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? (Romans 2:21)
There is a tremendous expectation from God for responsibility for leaders and teachers within the Church. Church leaders and teachers (especially) are held to a much higher standard, have great responsibility to the body, and will be judged more strictly.
This is a very sobering reality and must be taken seriously by each and every Christian leader and teacher.
