From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it. (Matthew 11:12)
The contextual sense of these words by Jesus is that God's Kingdom is always under attack and God's followers must be forceful in the market of ideas. Christians have suffered constant persecution ever since the days of Christ. Today in many places around the world believers are tortured or killed just because they are Christian.
Here in the United States of America it has become in vogue, even among many so-called Christians, to be quiet with one's faith. We are told to keep our religion inside our church walls and to express it only to other believers. After all it seems most Americans believe all faiths point to the same God.
The result is that America is following the lead of Europe and becoming less and less Christian with every passing day. Diversity has given way to perversity in the culture and the only behavior not tolerated is Biblical Christian behavior.
