Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. (Revelation 21:27)
This is a description of the New Jerusalem which God has prepared for all believers. Those who reject God and His son, will not be allowed into this place! They will not receive the gift of eternal life.
In Psalm 69:28, David writes, May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous.
So, God is keeping meticulous track of every person conceived and has a separate entry account for those who accept Jesus and have been thusly redeemed from sin. This is the book of life where all believers pray their names are written and have been promised is so.
I am so thankful I can know my name is in the Lamb's book of life! A gift received by God's grace, yet not in any way deserved.
