It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God – that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. (1 Corinthians 1:30)
Believers are fortunate and privileged beyond words to be in Christ. Just by accepting the gift he offers us we instantaneously have his righteousness, holiness and redemption.
In 2 Corinthians 2:17 we are told that, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! This means we are no longer dead in our trespasses and sins. Having been bathed by the blood of Christ we are now clean in God's eyes and have been eternally redeemed from a deserved judgment of Hell.
How encouraging these words are in light of the times we find ourselves in today. By turning our eyes upon Jesus the nastiness of this world does indeed fade away.
