First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this coming he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. (2 Peter 3:3-7)
Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. (2 Peter 3:17)
Here we see a description of the end times that fits many modern liberal theologians. So many have been taken captive by the idea that God's word is a take it or leave it selection of ideas. If a directive of God's word doesn't match the feelings of a leader or the current culture, then a person can just form his own opinion about it and feel free to disseminate it to all those under his influence.
More and more Christians are being subjected to the idea that the clear history of Genesis 1-11 is false and can be simply negated by the opinions of God-rejecting men. Christians need to be awake about this situation and aware of these teachers. Stay away from them! Do not in any way support their institutions and colleges! Do not be carried away!
