You ought to live holy and godly lives, as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. (2 Peter 3:11b-12)
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. (Mark 13:31-32)
And this gospel of the kingdom, will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:14)
After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. (Revelation 7:9)
In order to speed the coming of the Lord, we are directed to spread the gospel to the whole world. In other words, we each have a great responsibility to do our part to spread the gospel while we are here on earth.
