Now Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation died, but the Israelites were fruitful and multiplied greatly and became exceedingly numerous, so that the land was filled with them. (Exodus 1:6-7)
In Genesis 9:7 God told Noah to “be fruitful and to increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.” Here later in Exodus the Israelites are obeying God's command.
Population statistics bear out the fact that it doesn't take long for there to be large numbers of people. The approximately six billion people on the earth at this time is about the number that would be expected for the 4,500 years since the Genesis Flood.
The evolutionist scenario that assumes that human populations have existed for at least one million years (up to twenty million years) are shown to be ridiculous by reasonable population calculations. Another of the evidences that scientifically support the historical narrative of the Bible.
