Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. (Genesis 3:8)

What terrible consequences resulted from that original sin in the Garden of Eden! Adam and Eve knew full well that they were in big trouble. Their sinful actions resulted in an abrupt departure from the presence of God.

Christ Jesus gives us the oportunity to be redeemed from sin so that we can come back into the presence of our personal and loving God. To do this we must be willing to not only recognize our sin but also confess it.

2 Thessolonians 1:8-9 explains that those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the LORD and from the majesty of his power.

These verses should encourage all to not only trust in Jesus, but also obey him so as to facilitate that most valuable presence of God.
