And Israel said, “I'm convinced! My son Joseph is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.” (Genesis 45:28)

The context here is that Israel (Jacob) had difficulty comprehending that his son Joseph was still alive after many years of assuming that he was dead. Israel now yearned for the opportunity to see his long-lost son before his death.

The story of Joseph's sale into captivity is a classic biblical tale that illustrates God's overiding sovereignty in everyone's life. In Genesis chapter 45 we learn that Joseph totally understood that God was in charge and directed  a terrible situation (the selling of Joseph) so that a larger good could eventually result. Israel and Joseph were not the only ones involved, but also all of Israel's family.
