And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more. (1 Thessalonians 4:10)

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation… (1 Peter 2:2)

Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themsleves to distinguish good from evil. (Hebrews 5:13-14)

Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall away from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 3:17-18a)

The Scriptures are filled wiht admonitions that we continue to grow in our faith in Christ Jesus. There is no point on our faith journey where we are to cease to obey these directives! We can accomplish much with prayer,  Bible study, and by experiencing proper preaching of the gospel message. Without these three things, humans have proven over and over again that they are totally unable to distinguish good from evil.
