For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. (2 Thessalonians 2:11)
There are serious consequences for those who choose to reject the gospel.
In the above verse the “them” are those who are perishing because they refuse to receive Jesus Christ and the truth of his gospel message. The gospel explains the good news of a Creator God who sustains the universe and who sent a Redeemer because of his love for all mankind.
Today, the “lie” manifests itself in America by the belief that there is no God, that life and the universe originated by itself, and that wickedness should be worshipped. This is really THE BIG LIE because it is so fundamentally evil and leads so many people away from salvation and into eternal damnation. Serious consequences indeed.
The lie is the work of Satan and the lawless one of this world and is not from God. However, God sends a powerful delusion to those who reject Christ so they will believe the lie.
Do not in any manner reject Christ! The consequences are too severe.
