And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. (2 Timothy 2:24)

How difficult it can be not to be resentful when confronted with argumentative resistance to doctrinal truths from the Bible!

Paul also advises, Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)

We Christians who are teachers of the Word are called to be devotedly studious so we can correctly impart what we read and teach and not be ashamed of what we say to others. We have a great responsibility and are expected by God to exhibit gentleness and patience whenever we appear before others explaining the truth in Christ's name. Yes, we are held to a higher standard and that is indeed a great responsibility; but also a great privilege!
