And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. (1 Corinthians 1:26-27)
[God] who has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time… (2 Timothy 1:9)
He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 2:14)
These verses tell us that believers must be exceedlingly thankful that God's grace and purpose included calling them to a holy life so that they might share in the eternal glory of Jesus Christ!
