Every culture in the world organizes their schedule around a seven-day week. Historians who reject the Bible have always been puzzled concerning the origin of this system. The seven-day week does not fit into the 365 1/4 days of the solar year nor the lunar month of 29 days. The seven-day week could only have come from the pattern set by God as a reminder of the seven-day creation period. Throughout documented history, experience has proven the seven-day week to be the most satisfactory way of organizing man's life.

For example, both the French and Russian revolutionaries tried to abolish it, as did the government of Sri Lanka (Ceylon) in the 1960's. In each case it was a disaster. One rest day out of eight or ten days is too long an interval–one day in six is too short–one day in seven is just right. All three governments had to revert back to a seven-day week. How interesting that even communist and atheistic cultures are forced to acknowledge the Creator in how they organize their calendars!
