By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. (Hebrews 11:7)
For decades Noah preached and labored on the ark with no converts except for his immediate family. He did these things in holy fear because he wanted to save his family from the corruption and violence of the people on earth at that time.
The LORD then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. (Genesis 7:1)
[God] did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness and seven others. (2 Peter 2:5)
What these verses tell us is that holy fear leads to strong faith which leads to righteousness and salvation. Today we see that so many do not have holy fear for God, and some even reject the Creator God outright. We can expect that God will act consistently with his past actions and his Word and will judge harshly those who reject him. Please pray for those you know who have no holy fear.
