With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. (Isaiah 12:3)
/>On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” (John 7:37-38)

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. (Revelation 22:1-2)

Here on earth all humans require water to survive and we cannot live long without water. In fact, a high percentage of our physical bodies is made up of water. These verses above emphasize our need for spiritual water as well. In Revelation 22 we are told that the river of life flows from the Father and the Lamb (Jesus). Without access to that river there can be no salvation.

What a sobering thought for each and every person alive on earth! The critical importance of the Great Commission to the Christian is clear (see Matthew 28:19).
