I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:11)

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. (Colossians 3:16)

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16)

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. (Matthew 24:35)

The words of God are exceedingly important for every aspect of our lives and it is extremely helpful to be able to call on them from memory when needed. Even Jesus needed to do this in his confrontation with Satan in the wilderness. Believers of every age would do well to work on this aspect of their faith.
