And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. (Matthew 16:18)
Throughout the world and especially in America, with each passing day, the Church comes under increasing attack from many aspects of the culture. Liberal journalists are especially harsh in their criticism of evangelical Christians who dare to say such things as, “The Bible is God's Word” and “Jesus is God.”
Separation of church and state has been perverted to mean that the church is to have no place in the general society and that Biblical Christians must restrict the practice of their faith to be only inside the doors of their church buildings. Public schools welcome the assistance of church members to do yard work, school building repairs, and teacher assistance but no mention of Jesus or salvation is allowed. This is touted to be because public schools are “neutral” regarding religion. But, this is total bunk as public schools have their own religion that is taught in nearly every school in America…the religion of evolutionary secular humanism!
However, there is good news and that is that the verse above, and others in the Bible, provide the comfort that in the end Christ and his Church will be triumphant! The Apostle Paul put it this way, If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
