The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. (Psalm 23:1)

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (John 10:11)

I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me – just as the Father knows me and I know the Father – I lay down my life for the sheep. (John 10:14-15)

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Psalm 23:6)

For the believer these verses should provide a sense of wonderful security. This security comes to each of us as we accept Christ as Lord and Redeemer. We are then assured that he will know and keep us. He has laid down his life in order to redeem us from sin and unrighteousness. Our relationship with the Good Shepherd means our eternal future will be just as the Bible promises.
