For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet was without sin. (Hebrews 4:15-16)
Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. (Hebrews 2:18)
Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always loves to intercede for them. (Hebrews 7:23-25)
Life here on earth would be totally hopeless if we could only rely on our own means to justify and save ourselves. Thanks be to God that He has provided Jesus Christ as our personal High Priest. As the only priest of all time with the experiences of mankind and the powers of the Creator, He is sufficient for our needs, and on top of that, He loves to intercede for us. Wow!
