He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals his thoughts to man, he who turns dawn to darkness, and treads the high places of the earth – the LORD God Almighty is his name. (Amos 4:13)

I overthrew some of you as I overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. You were like a burning stick snatched from the fire, yet you have not returned to me declares the LORD. (Amos 4:11)

The LORD saw how great man's wickedness had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. (Genesis 6:5)

These verses are a few of those in the Bible that trace the historical record of mankind rejecting God in order to pursue evil. In these situations men act as though they are in charge and have no need for God. It seems that today this way of thinking and acting is prevalent throughout all of our society. But, it is not only dangerous but totally foolish for any nation or any individual to misunderstand the true God of the universe. This Creator God made everything, knows everything and judges everything.

We must learn from those who made mistakes in the past. We must not be foolish!
