Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (1 John 2:15)

There are other Bible passages that remind Christians that they are not of the world, for example: I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. (John 17:14)

Not only is this a difficult thing for the Christian to remember, but as a result of this fact the people of the world think of Christians as being foolish and weak. (1 Corinthians 1:27-28)

As a person who was once only of this world, I sometimes find it difficult to understand why the world hates Christians so much and rejects the truth of God and Him as Creator of everything. I want everyone to come to accept the logic of God's Word and embrace the good news just as I did. Then I am reminded that it was only through the grace of God that I was able to be accepted as a child of God.

The Bible also tells us that many are invited, few chosen (Matthew 22:14); the Gospel is veiled to those who are perishing (2 Corinthians 4:3); their thinking is futile (Romans 1:21); and many are on the broad road, few on the narrow road to life (Matthew 7:13-14).

Nevertheless, that dismal forecast does not absolve any Christian from developing and putting into a place a personal plan to accomplish the commission that was assigned upon accepting Christ (Matthew 28:19-20).
