Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:9)

Join with others in following my example, brothers, and take note of those who live according to the pattern we gave you. (Philippians 3:17)

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:1)

The Apostle Paul is sometimes criticized and called an egotist for writings like those above. But it is fairer to say he knew the way of truth and wanted others to know that way too. He knew he was following Christ's example in living and he wanted that for others. Believers today have much guidance in the Bible for this way of living in truth here on earth. A couple more examples follow:

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving an example, that you should follow in his steps. “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” (1 Peter 2:21-22)

In the same way let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)
